Top Ten Best Coffees in Melbourne

23 Jun

Known for its nightlife, food and entertainment, Melbourne never disappoints me.  I acknowledge that Sydney is pretty, Brisbane is showy and Perth is sublime, but Melbourne is where my heart lies.

...yup. But still I love it.

The problem with Melbourne, is there are way too many hidden gems in all those pesky laneways.  They’re great for someone who has lived and breathed Melbourne for all of her years (erm, yours truly), but for the casual visitor they may prove difficult to locate and navigate.

All too often I see flocks of people at all the wrong places!  You are really missing out on amazing coffee, people.

Read carefully… as I present:

The top 10 Coffees in Melbourne

– Brother Baba Budan (Little Lonsdale St, CBD)

– Sensory Lab (Little Collins St, CBD)

– Seven Seeds (Parkville)

– Dukes Coffee Roasters (Chapel St, Prahran)*

– Wall Two (Carlisle St, St Kilda)

– Cumulus Inc (Little Collins St, CBD)*

– Mr. Tulk (Latrobe St, CBD)*

– St Ali (South Melbourne)*

– Proud Mary (Off Smith St, Collingwood)*

– The Corner Shop (Yarraville)*

* These places also have phenomenal breakfast/brunch-type offerings

Note they are in no particular order, unless you count the order that I remembered them in.  Regardless, many of these places, while popular with Melbournites certainly, are not really known by anyone else.  So, if you’re in Melbourne (and the inner suburbs) do drop in to one of these delightful venues.  I promise they will not disappoint.

So, do you agree? Or disagree?  Have I left your favourite out?  Let everyone know below.
